The term “ethical investment” has been in circulation for over 20 years, since the first UK ethical fund was launched in 1984. The idea behind the ethical philosophy is that the fund manager will pick companies that have the potential to do well both socially and financially. Whether or not to invest in an ethical manner is very much a personal decision and is not something that Prest Financial Services will impose on you. “Ethical financial planning” is a term that we use to reflect our belief that clients should be dealt with in a professional, transparent and ethical manner.
This area is a specialism of Prest Financial Services. We are members of the Ethical Investment Association (EIA) and the UK Social Investment Forum (UKSIF). 18th - 24th May 2008 will see the first ever National Ethical Investments Week in the UK. This will involve a week long campaign by Ethical Investment providers and advisers to highlight the benefits of Ethical Investing and raise it's profile.
